[nMage Manila] The Lighter Side of Things

Some people might be wondering now as to how we can even live in such conditions as presented in my previous posts. The Philippines can be depressing at times, but if I were to use the World of Darkness parlance, the Virtue of the Filipino is Hope. While often contested by the Filipino vice of Sloth (or Apathy), Hope allows Filipinos to overcome even the bleakest of situations knowing that there’s always a reason to smile.

This is the flip side to my campaign. Given the bureaucratic mess that the Awakened community is in, there remains a ray of hope that somehow, there will be a group with the right kind of skill and influence to be able to whip it into shape, bringing the Awakened together in some semblance of a functioning Consilium as to better face the challenges of the Supernatural threats that constantly bombard the city.

The PCs are the heroes of this story, and despite this game being set in the world of darkness, there’s always the promise of a happy ending.

And so tomorrow marks the first session of the campaign, and I’ll be documenting the games as Actual Play Reports as they happen, adding my observations and with my players chiming in now and then. Hopefully we’ll be able to prove our Department of Tourism right.

It’s more fun in the Philippines.

Even in the World of Darkness

I am interested to hear how your players will react and play this out in your campaign as often GM’s telling stories in the WoD often focus on the darker side of life rather than its lighter counterpart.

Can’t wait to read all about it here.
