Life and Times of a Philippine Gamer is on its third year of existence today! I wouldn’t have noticed it too until I double checked my old threads on a whim.
I have to admit that three years is a long time for anything, so I definitely feel good about making it this far. We’ve seen games come and go, ideas explored, concepts expanded, and game systems studied. I’ve met a lot of awesome people via this blog and groups like RPGbloggers and the Role Play Media Network, whose brilliant insightful feedback have helped this site grow leaps and bounds. This blog is also how I managed to even come in contact with brilliant people in the industry such as the guys of Crafty-Games and Jess Hartley as well as other blogging luminaries like Michael Wolf, aka Stargazer.
The Philippines is not exactly the first country people think of when they think of the hobby, but I’m happy to be part of those few who work to keep the hobby on the radar for those who discover it and want to learn about it. I might not be quite as active in local events as I’d like to be, but I’m pleased to have helped even a few other Filipinos ease themselves into the RPG hobby.
My future plans for the blog are to keep blogging for one, with perhaps more reviews and study articles that detail more games as they are published. There’s so much coming up around the horizon, and the hobby is changing with the advent of new technologies and I’m excited to see what happens in the next few years.
If you’re reading this, then thank you. One of the best reasons for me to keep blogging, is knowing that my posts are able to promote the hobby, spur new ideas, and better inform people who share my interests, and your comments and visits are a solid indicator of that. So thank you for being here, thank you for dropping by, and I hope you’ll bookmark this blog and make Life and Times of a Philippine Gamer one of your go-to sites for tabletop RPGs.

You guys have all been valuable contributors to the blog, and I personally feel that no blog can succeed without encouraging and cultivating dialogue between those who write it, as well as among those who visit it.
I’m only part of the equation, but it’s you guys who keep this blog at the level of quality that it has. Consider me beholden to all of you and your awesomeness.
Boo.
My blog is 5 years old and it is old and cranky.
