Darklings are said to be mortals who have done something unwise and attracted the attentions of the Fae. Whether by being where they shouldn’t be, or doing something they shouldn’t be doing, these Mortals have made themselves to be targets by breaking the rules, however obscure these rules may be.
It is little wonder then that the Darklings are Changelings that speak in whispers and dwell in shadows? After a durance that involved punishment and hiding, of learning to be so very, very quiet to avoid notice. The Darklings learned their lessons well, and have become incredibly proficient in the art of being unobserved, while taking note of everything around them.
