In yesterday’s article, we dealt with the Themes of the Dawn of Sorrows campaign, the recurring and unifying ideas that form the spine of my intended campaign, coloring the kinds of conflicts and issues that will arise in the game. Today, we’re working on the Dawn of Sorrows campaign’s Mood.
A campaign’s mood is the general atmosphere, feeling or emotion created by, and sustained by the game. While I worry that perhaps I sound downright pretentious in even discussing such a matter, I feel that a GM should also consider the Mood of his games, in addition to all the other things you’d normally busy yourself with, like NPC Stats.
