[Mage: the Awakening] Boston Unveiled Campaign: Season 4, Coming Soon

After a lot of thought and deliberation, it’s been decided that I’ll be running the 4th story arc of my ongoing Mage: the Awakening campaign.    Lot’s of dangling plot hooks at the moment for all of the player characters, and we might be looking at the arrival of 2 new players to the group.

This is a rare opportunity for me as I’ve not really had a chance to run a campaign of this length before.  The player characters are all movers and shakers of Mage society already, having garnered something like 80 or so experience points.

Things have begun to move towards a slightly different direction.  Some of the characters have begun to entrench themselves in mage society, working to improve their chosen fields:

• Yuuko – Has recovered from her life-changing experience (more on that in Tomorrow’s post, trust me, it’s a doozy) and she’s working to slowly take upon the duties of the Daoine Legacy and her father’s shop as a proprietor of wishes (and karma.)
• Gilgamesh – Has established his Legacy, and emotionally blackmailed a young mage to serve as his first disciple.  Has started taking tentative steps to solidify his Legacy and push it forward as a valid Legacy in the eyes of the Consilium.  Also has a long standing grudge match to settle with the Tick Tock Men.
• Guile Chambers – Devastated by the loss of his home and the assault on his reputation, Guile’s mind turns to darker, more dangerous thoughts, potentially hurling him into a cycle of revenge and loss that few people are able to pull themselves out of.
• Jack MacClaine - Having come to accept the nature of his work in the Guardians, Jack is starting to push himself into a mad fervor of work, stopping the dangers of the supernatural to prevent his trauma from happening to anyone else.  But how does his newfound zeal at work affect his personal life?  With his son going off into college, and his ex-wife frightened of him, how long will it take for Jack to snap again?

As you can see Season 4 is a season that starts off with the players on the edge of taking that one big step that will redefine their lives forever.  With it are several threats that they’re all working against, each with their own dark agendas.  From the Abyss, to Alternate Worlds to the Darkness that Lurks in the Hearts of Men, these Mages are no longer able to close their eyes to the fact that they’re the only ones who can see the evil coming… and the only ones who can stand against it.
