As a GM there’s always that point in the campaign when you have to wrestle a little bit with your soul. Your players are good, they’ve dodged bullets, fought off minions and thwarted your plans like any kickass group should. But you’ve been waiting, watching, and planning… taking note of the things they don’t, adding it all up until you see it, the blind spot that the group hasn’t anticipated, the one thing they let slip that might just spell a major blow to their adventuring days.
My hand always hovers over the red button at moments like these, and I question myself. Is this fair? Is it right for me to draw out these little things that they let slip and make them come back and haunt the heroes?
